Never saw it till dvd because i just could NOT get over the image (and implications, and visual 'meanings'... of an older black man CHAINING a young white chick to a radiator......
But i was VERY surprised at what the film seemed to turn out to REALLY be about.....
Anyone......????

I haven't seen it, but I think I know enough about it from the reviews to get the basic plot. I guess he chains her up to sort of rehabilitate her in some weird way right?

Well that was the gist of ONE of the levels to it... U should check it for urself.... I'm somewhat hesitant to admit it here ( don't like getting 'smacked' down by the more militant, inflexible bros here....), but it really pleasantly surprised me on mant levels....
It's also a flick very strongly about the blues (the music), redemtion, forgiveness, unconditional love, and looking beneath mere appearance...., etc...
Theres some really enjoyable guitar performances by Samuel, and -not to be misogynist or anything- but Christina Ricci DOES look amazing (if ur into THAT sort of thing....smile). Not so sure about her performance.., as to me, she seems to give somewhat the same performance in every flick..., but she didn't make me vomit, or anything.... No- i should stop... she was very good at points.....Mostly wasn't her fault her charecter was WOEFULLY under developed.....
Out of 10 i'd give it a 7-ish...
